In the summer of 1984, Masanobu Endo took us
In Another Time, In Another World...

Where Prince Gil must climb 60 floors of the demon Druaga's tower to rescue the priestess Ki... Where you, the player, must figure out the 60 secrets to gain access to the necessary equipment to destroy Druaga and restore light to the world... Where players had to band together and share tips and tricks in order to complete the mammoth undertaking. There really was nothing like it.

As tribute to this innovative and fascinating game, I have arranged Junko Ozawa's soundtrack in my own authentic sega genesis/megadrive style. 4 tracks from game's ost are given space here, with each taking you along the arc of Gil's quest. It was fun to experiment and improvise in different genres as I sought to capture different moods and emotions for each remix. I felt it imperative to branch out, as the original tracks are often only 15s long!

Please enjoy! This track is the result of a great deal of effort and my love letter to a series and world that really captivates me. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I did making it!

If you want to experience this game for yourself, I highly recommend the PC Engine remake, supervised by Endo himself (screens of which are in this thumbnail). It is a fantastic update that makes the game far more manageable than its punishing arcade forebear. There are translation patches available.
